Position Overview
Wilkes University invites applicants for a one‑year visiting Assistant Professor position in the Department of Psychology to begin August 2026. The position is open area, however, preference will be given to those who can teach Cognitive Psychology courses. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in Cognitive Psychology, courses in their specialty area, as well as courses in general areas of need for the department (e.g., Introductory Psychology, courses in the capstone sequence). The teaching load will be 24 credits over two semesters (4‑4 load).

Responsibilities & Qualifications
The Department of Psychology consists of six full‑time faculty who are student and teaching focused. We seek a candidate who demonstrates a commitment to undergraduate teaching and can provide evidence of teaching effectiveness. The new faculty member will also be an active member of the department including involvement in student and service activities. Preference will be given to candidates who embrace the University’s culture of developing mentoring relationships. A Ph.D. in psychology at the time of appointment is required. ABDs will be considered if degree completion will occur by August 2026. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
