Overview
Shenandoah University’s Department of Psychology is accepting applications for a lecturer or assistant professor. This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia. This position will begin in the Fall of 2026.

Responsibilities

Teach a 4–4 load with courses such as Abnormal Psychology, Theories of Counseling, Research Methods, and other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. As part of the teaching load each semester, supervise and teach our Field Placement and Professional Development course, which involves overseeing current placement sites and developing new, community-based experiential learning opportunities for students.

Provide academic advising for psychology majors.

Qualifications

Expertise in clinical or counseling psychology; passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.

Strong commitment to student learning, experiential education, and collaborative departmental growth.

On-campus, in-person presence is required.
