Job Description: Dietary Worker – Full Time (Stony Brook Southampton Hospital)
Responsibilities
Knowledge of patients' diets and various tray line positions to ensure accurate meals to patients.
Serve patient food, maintain cleanliness and organization of patients' workstation.
Operate dish machine or pot washing station.
Break down and clean up after meals.
Maintain safe and sanitary conditions of tables, carts & equipment and service ware.
Demonstrate ability to comprehend and complete job assignments as assigned.
Use all Personal Protective Equipment and utilize equipment as per department safety procedures.
Report unsafe, warring or damaged equipment.
Maintain workstation in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
Comply with Stony Brook Southampton Hospital Policies and Procedures.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Ability to read and write simple English; understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
Physical Demands
Standing majority of the day.
Occasional heavy lifting when handling food.
Visual and auditory acuity.
Adjust to hot and cold temperatures.
Employment Details
As part of employment, occasional travel to other locations may be required.
Schedule: Full‑time, Variable Shift Hours: 6:30 am‑2:30 pm / 11:30 am‑7:30 pm / 2:30 pm‑7:30 pm.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
Prior to start date, the selected candidate must:
Successfully complete pre‑employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Employee Health Services.
Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
Successfully complete a 4‑panel drug screen.
Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre‑employment screenings.
Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
