Join Staples’ Finance Analytics team and play a critical role in shaping data‑driven business decisions. As a Senior Analyst II, you’ll analyze complex financial data, influence strategic initiatives, and partner closely with business leaders to drive profitability and long‑term growth.
What you’ll be doing:
Conduct in‑depth financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions and strategies
Prepare and present detailed financial reports, trends, and forecasts for senior leadership
Partner cross‑functionally to gather, validate, and analyze financial data
Develop and maintain dashboards and models tracking key performance indicators
Identify financial risks and provide actionable recommendations
Support budgeting and forecasting processes aligned with organizational goals
Perform scenario analysis to inform planning and investment decisions
Participate in enterprise and special projects requiring advanced analytics

Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Collaborative approach when working with cross‑functional partners

Sound judgment when working autonomously on complex assignments
Ability to influence decision‑making through data‑driven recommendations
What’s needed – Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
5+ years of progressively complex experience in financial analysis or related field
Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling
Experience analyzing large and complex financial data sets
Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles
What’s needed – Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Finance or related field
Experience with financial planning and analysis systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion)
Experience using SQL and/or data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Experience mentoring or guiding junior analysts
Exposure to predictive analytics or machine learning tools

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
