
Maintenance Planner

Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning maintenance activities, scheduling recurring PM tasks, generating purchase requisitions, materials procurement, and contractor management. The Maintenance Planner reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities
Organize and schedule routine frequent PMs and other activities in cooperation with affected departments.
Assist in planning shutdown activities.
Develop and provide work scope and details as required on a per-task basis.
Initiate safe work instructions, and revise instructions as needed.
Work collaboratively with EHS on permit‑required maintenance activities to ensure compliance.
Generate and process materials, tools, components, contractor service, and vendor‑managed inventory purchase requisitions.
Monitor contractor activities as required.
Research component details for appropriate technology improvements.
Monitor and check the compressed air system.
Assist with maintenance repairs when necessary to cover resource shortage issues.
Escalate issues to appropriate team about potential constraints with respect to meeting the production schedule to maintain open communication channels and facilitate proactive approach to problem resolution.
Complete and perform other duties/tasks as may be assigned.
Academic/Educational Requirements
Associates, Technical degree, B.S. degree in Engineering or related disciplines; or years of equivalent experience preferred.
Equivalent experience would involve a minimum of three years as maintenance technician or planner in a manufacturing facility.
Required Skills/Experiences
Three years or more of industrial maintenance technician or planner experience.
Strong preventive maintenance development experience, familiarity with reliability centered maintenance principles preferred.
PLC: troubleshooting with, or programming (Allen Bradley and Siemens).
Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Team oriented and able to interact with people at all levels and departments.
Excellent problem solving and leadership skills.
Detail oriented and excellent documentation skills.
Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.
Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6‑Sigma principles preferred.
Ability to lead a team.
Ability to report information in context and at a level that allows decisions to be made.
Adaptation to changing priorities with high performance.
Self‑motivated: energetic, likes to work at a fast pace.
Result‑oriented: Problem‑solving orientation.
