SUMMARY:

The Math Instructional Facilitator is a critical lever in improving student achievement. The role of the facilitator is to build teacher capacity and their understanding of instructional practices as related to the mathematical best practices, data driven instruction, and district curriculum initiatives. The math instructional facilitator will work collaboratively with members of the Curriculum Team and Building Administrators to support teachers professional development. In order to meet this purpose, the instructional facilitator will provide personalized, 1:1 support based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers by ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers through student-centered coaching cycles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and maintain a deep understanding of current mathematics strategies and exemplary classroom mathematics practices.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of testing data and analysis regarding all statewide tests (criterion-referenced and norm-referenced) required of students in JNPSD.

Utilize Adult Learning Theory to motivate adult learners to improve professional practice.

Communicate and demonstrate research-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance.

Identify the instructional improvement needs of the teachers served and facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers with a focus on improving student achievement.

Develop effective scheduling plans to visit and support each teacher during the year.

Improve teachers' ability to understand, plan and assess student progress toward meeting standards.

Improve teachers' content, management and instructional strategies to better address the needs of all students in a positive environment.

Serve as liaison between research and practice, helping teachers learn to improve their practices in a reflective supportive setting.

Collaborate and support teachers in using the adopted curriculum and assessments to analyze students’ strengths and target areas for improvement.

Provide regular, on-site classroom based coaching support to each teacher following a student centered coaching cycle including model and demonstration of lessons, co-planning, co-teaching, feedback, reflection, and collaboration.

Collaborates with teachers to design rigorous, standards-based classroom instruction. Coach and assist teachers with curriculum development, classroom management, instructional strategies, assessment of student performance, and all aspects of professional development.

Provide relevant and timely feedback to teachers.

Submit weekly coaching logs and any pertinent data requests/coaching documentation.

Develop coherent plans and processes to measure both the implementation of the instructional support program and its impact.

Create positive relationships with teachers. Develop, deliver, and/or coordinate teacher training programs and district wide professional development opportunities.

Create positive relationships with administrators. Support administrators in curriculum and instructional leadership.

Actively participate in a district-based professional learning community to improve instruction.

Provide feedback on program effectiveness to site and program administrators.

Prepare reports, maintains program files and record keeping systems for accountability,

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE
Master's Degree; Valid Arkansas teaching license in elementary education or Math content area. Five years of successful teaching experience.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners; Knowledge of student-centered coaching. Knowledge of the PLC process and Academic RTI. Ability to interpret data; strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of pre-employment background checks. Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students, other staff members and the general public.
