
IRST Software Test Engineer / Embedded / C++ / Orlando, FL

One of Lockheed Martin’s premier programs Infrared Search and Track (IRST) is looking for a Software Test Engineer to support production testing, software debugging, and code updates. IRST detects and tracks objects that emit infrared signatures, enabling aircrews to target threats before they are detected by adversaries.
What You Will Be Doing
Develop embedded software.
Perform hardware testing and requirement verification.
Conduct and coordinate software test activities.
Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that addresses business and mission problems using computer language and data processing equipment.
Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, program subject matter, information processing techniques, and user information to develop software.
Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
Basic Qualifications
Embedded software technology.
Language: C++.
Knowledge of multi‑core and multi‑threaded programming.
Experience with object‑oriented design.
Experience with hardware testing.
OS: Linux or VxWorks.
Must have an interim Secret clearance to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Desired Skills
Hardware/Software integration.
Hardware in the Loop (HIL).
Software in the Loop (SIL).
Experience with Acceptance Testing.
Ability to work with multi‑disciplined teams.
Experience working in a large code base.
Design patterns.
GitLab.
Full software life‑cycle development.
Scrum.
Safety Critical Software.
Security Clearance Level: Secret. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Location: Orlando, Florida. Onsite full‑time. Work schedule: four 10‑hour days, three days off per week.
