
LOCUM CVICU Nurse Practitioner

Job Overview
We are hiring a contract Locum experienced cardiothoracic critical care intensivist nurse practitioner or physician assistant for a prestigious hospital in Houston, TX.
Ongoing full‑time or part‑time locum contract with options to extend. Duties include high acuity of care, Level One Trauma, and lots of procedures. The cardiovascular critical care team is a continuous, on‑site service with an expected work schedule of 3–4 night shifts per week, or open to 6 on/8 off and blocks of 7 on/7 off.
Responsibilities
Management of approximately 800+ cardiac cases per year including CABGs, valve surgeries (surgical and TAVR), and thoracic vascular surgery (surgical and TEVAR).
Management of cardiogenic shock with and without mechanical support.
Perform high‑quality clinical practices and effective patient management under the supervision of the cardiac intensivist, in accordance with state regulations.
Maintain autonomy in the CVICU program.
Qualifications
Must have Texas license.
Experience as a cardiothoracic critical care intensivist nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
Contract Details
Length: 6 months and up. 1099 locum team with opportunities such as travel, lodging, rental/mileage benefits and more.
