Job Summary
Responsible for coordination, development, revision and execution of the detailed mechanical engineering required in budgetary and approved projects, while complying with the requirements of safety, quality, cost and time, and applying the methodologies, procedures and specifications of the established mechanical standards.

Job Responsibilities

Active participation in project scopes through the preliminary execution of equipment calculations, material storage, block diagrams and flowcharts

Elaborate preliminary and final lists of equipment and accessories, for the development of investment budgets in the draft stages as well as during the project execution.

Classify and coordinate the final numeration of mechanical equipment, applying the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) that will serve as a base for the development of the project and the proper application of accounting charges

Elaborate all the necessary information and documentation (requests, comparison charts, recommendations, etc.), for the contracting of the detailed engineering and services, based on specifications of the engineering department.

Coordinate the execution of all the basic mechanical engineering developed during the project.

Coordinate, review, and manage the mechanical engineering deliverables, as well as the follow up of the schedules, which shall be completed according to the master schedule and corrected as deviations occur.

Execute the calculations for the selection and management of mechanical equipment and materials

Verify the compliance of norms, standards and design specifications of the designers and engineering buffets, through monitoring and assistance

Review all the information, drafts and certified, from the mechanical equipment suppliers.

Development of machinery technical sheets that will include: general description of the equipment and its components, supplier information, accessories information, etc. among other criteria.

Participate in the execution and permanent update of mechanical specifications.

Development of job concept catalogs for the bidding process and hiring of construction contractors.

Technical participation and support of the construction department.

Participate actively during the installation and commissioning of the project.

Attend training and development courses.

Qualifications

BS Mechanical Engineering or similar degree. Prior experience in Project Mechanical Engineering.

Experience in Projects Execution (Engineering development & Construction).

Solid understanding of engineering drawings and files.

Must understand fabrication and construction drawing preparations and interpretation.

Computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, & 3D Model /AutoCAD.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong leadership and team skills.

Soft Skills: management, presentation skills, public speaking, self-motivated.

Working Conditions

Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise and working outdoors

Must wear all necessary protective equipment while at the location

Physical Requirements

Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to a significant degree

Minor lifting up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate with employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment

Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but my not be limited to, pushing, turning and or/pulling of controls
