Overview – Job Description
As an LSET Trader you will research, monitor, and oversee the execution of daily trades with our low latency client base trading US Equities/Options. The ideal candidate will be a mid-level professional. Frequent interaction with traders, quants, operations, support, and senior management teams will be required so communication and collaboration skills are essential. This is a DESK role, previous exposure to electronic trading platforms is a must, and the trader will be fielding daily inquiries about algos, smart order routers, and DMA orders. Familiarity with risk monitoring, risk management, and the ability to follow escalation procedures are also key components to the role. Market structure knowledge and the ability to work with the exchanges across various FIX and binary protocols to troubleshoot client inquiries. Basic networking/technical knowledge is also a plus as well as experience with VBA.
Key Responsibilities
Manage order flow and execute trades using an electronic trading platform.
Work closely with support, operations, brokers, and PB’s to assure proper trade allocations.
Monitor the behavior of execution algorithms and work with quant clients to resolve any issues.
Interact with brokers and bank dealing desks to source liquidity if needed.
Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned such as ad hoc report generation.
Maintain and upgrade existing spreadsheets and trading tools.
A strong understanding of how different exchanges and Alternative Trading Systems (ATSs) operate.
Provide real‑time risk management order flows and connectivity health to detect and resolve technical "hiccups".
Act as a high‑level technical point of contact to investigate trade discrepancies, latency issues, or connection drops in a fast‑paced "front‑to‑back" environment.
Hands‑on experience with Order Management Systems (OMS), Execution Management Systems (EMS), and the FIX Protocol.
Knowledge of the US Equities/options "Trade Lifecycle".
The ability to translate complex technical issues into clear updates for non‑technical stakeholders, such as sales traders or institutional clients.
Benefits and Compensation
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $110,000-$160,000 a year*. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign‑on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
