Job Summary
Improves K-12 administrative oversight for School Choice Pathways through coaching, training and supporting enrichment teachers and site Directors.
Essential Functions
Develops and delivers professional development for teachers in afterschool enrichment content and instructional strategies for the assigned after school sites.
Works to develop an atmosphere of collaboration with team members, schools and administrators to contribute to the district’s mission and strategic plan of meeting student needs in enrichment.
Provides support to after school staff in curriculum implementation, instructional content, use of instructional materials and strategies, use of data to improve instruction by implementing coaching cycle (pre-conference, model, co-teach, observe, debrief). Assists in prioritizing actions to ensure those impacting student achievement are accomplished first.
Assists schools with analysis of school, class, and student data, and develops appropriate instructional strategies. Assists in the interpretation of progress monitoring data, including how to adjust instruction to better meet the needs of students based upon data results.
Leads the development and facilitation of professional learning communities.
Participates in evaluation and selection of instructional materials, equipment, and supplies appropriate for district standards.
Assists in development and implementation of in-service training for principals, teachers, and other school & district staff related to community engagement and parental involvement.
Provides assistance related to computerized registration and evaluation.
Serves as liaison with community organizations.
Maintains successful and continuous communication with parents; the community; school and district personnel and administrators regarding afterschool programs.
Disseminates information to principals, teachers, and other school and district staff regarding research findings and practices of afterschool programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) years successful elementary and/or secondary classroom teaching experience. Experience conducting professional development.
Certifications & Licenses:
Florida Department of Education Certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of DCPS policies and procedures
Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and behavioral interventions, including using a variety of teaching methods and positive behavior reinforcement appealing to different learners
Working knowledge of professional development methodologies using a variety of in-service programs
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong word processing, email and calendar tool, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills
Strong creative problem-solving skills
Strong project management skills
Strong data analysis skills
Strong time management skills
Strong multi-media presentation development skills
Ability to facilitate groups
