JR100235**Job Title**Employee Disciplinary and Grievance Tech - BCSO**Pay Rate**United States of America (Hourly)**Time Type**Full time**Summary****Duties and Responsibilities:*** Processes employee disciplinary actions and grievances in the Detention Division* Drafts disciplinary actions for Jail Administrator’s signature* Prepares cases for detention hearing proceedings with the Jail Administrator* Researches historical information, policies, procedures and codes and gathers supporting documentation such as Sheriff’s Civil Service Rules, Detention and Sheriff’s Policy and Procedures* Maintains calendar for hearings proceedings and notifies individuals and witnesses of hearing dates* Attends hearing proceedings at the divisional level and documents outcome of proceedings* Monitors pending cases and drafts time-sensitive responses to cases* Maintains division statistics on caseload information and develops complex reports* Assists Grievance and Appeals Specialist and District Attorney’s Office in preparation of cases that go beyond the divisional level;* Performs related duties as required.**Minimum Qualifications****:*** Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources or a closely related field and two years human resources experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.* Knowledge of employee grievance and appeal processes; knowledge of civil service procedures; knowledge of jail operations and procedures.* Skill in understanding and applying department policies and procedures; skill in researching and analyzing complex information; skill in communicating technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing.* Ability to compile and report information; ability to operate personal computer, typewriter and basic office equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, Department Heads and attorneys.* Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.* May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek.**Working Conditions:*** Physical requirements include lifting/carrying 5-10 lbs. occasionally; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computer keyboard and basic office equipment.* Subject to sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching and twisting to perform the essential functions.* Working conditions are in an office within a jail environment.**Working With Bexar County**Bexar County offers employees a competitive salary, retirement, and benefits.
