Second Shift Position
Responsible for the overall safety, quality and efficient operation of the processes within their area of responsibility. Ability to influence others and demonstrate a consistent, enthusiastic approach towards associates, co-workers and support staff. Has a working knowledge of all the equipment within their assigned area with the ability to train others. Leads by developing operator's job knowledge and drive continuous improvements to achieve established targets & objectives.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Strict adherence to 6s protocols
Ensure all required PPE is properly utilized
Safety Glasses
Hearing Protection
Safety Shoes
Protective gloves (sleeves if required)
Face Shield as required
Ensure Safety Incident Reports are completed when there is an injury
Coordinate safety improvement projects and actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
Ability to safely and efficiently perform all production work in your respective area of responsibility.
Conduct daily pre-shift meetings; provide meaningful & relevant information: e.g.

OEE Performance
Machine/Equipment status

Adherence to Day 1-5; weeks 2-4 training program
Train associates using Standard Work Instructions (SWI).
Fully utilize associates from "whistle to whistle".
Manage equipment/machine breakdowns by being acutely aware of issue(s) & directing personnel & support staff.
Follow up, follow up, follow up.
Assure Production Boards in their assigned area are reviewed and initialed on an hourly basis.
Identify and label any suspect or defective parts or components and assure timely disposition of product.
Communicate all quality and/or process changes to associates and provide training as required.
Provide clear & detailed communication to your supervisor, support staff & shift to shift pass downs.
Assist supervisor with associate performance reviews regarding safety, quality, efficiency, cooperation and accountability.
Awareness & understanding of inventory systems Maintain accurate inventory by regular interaction with the Materials department.
Create and/or assist with work instructions for new and existing processes and maintain their accuracy.
Understand and perform the supervisor's responsibilities in their absence.
Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor or designee.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One year or more of automotive manufacturing experience. Prior leadership and/or technical experience would benefit this individual. Must be able to perform and understand all job functions of a production operator.

The ability to read and comprehend written work instructions. The ability to write effective correspondence. The ability to write work instructions and set up procedures. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. The ability to lead corrective action or continuous improvement teams. Effectively represent the company professionally to customers, suppliers and other associates within the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to work without close supervision.
