
Tooling Technician - 1st and 2nd Shift available

Job Purpose
This position will perform preventative maintenance on molds per production requirements. Repair molds and manufacture spare or replacement parts with minimal supervision. Machining and welding of parts for projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with engineering staff or alone to repair molds as needed. Use TIG welder where needed to fix damaged areas. Troubleshoot and rebuild hot runner systems when necessary. Gain knowledge on determining what can and cannot be a quick fix. Work as a team with and for Production as support.
Make parts for molds or other projects as needed. Work from blueprints when available.
Tear down, inspect, clean, and lubricate molds
Inspect all springs, pins, slides etc. for wear or damage on molds. Replace or repairs as needed.
Enter into the computer all repair or pm data all repairs and PMs.
Maintain tool room area
Perform after hours mold repairs as necessary
Qualifications
Injection molding / die repair experience
Strong troubleshooting skills
Welding
TIG
Strong problem solving
Good oral and writing skills
Leadership abilities that includes strong Team Building experience
Strong mechanical aptitude
Mold Polishing Skills (Class "A")
Understanding of Lean concepts and their applications
Good interpersonal skills
Experience on all tool room equipment (mill, lathe, surface, grader)
Familiarity with mold wiring
Experience with spotting & fitting of mold/die components
Working Conditions
Walking, standing, lifting, stooping, climbing; slight exposure to fumes, temperature, noise, dirt and dust

Movement and maneuvering of heavy equipment
