Production Upholstery is a job classification that performs bonding, sewing and hardware tasks to produce aircraft interior parts. Must repeatedly produce quality products in an efficient manner while maintaining a high regard for personal safety and health as well as that of co-workers.
Required Skills
- Responsible for the construction of interior panels, which can include cutting, bonding, sewing and performing hardware operations such as drilling, riveting and assembly.
- Maintain safe and effective work area/environment and use appropriate personal protective and safety equipment.
- Must complete proper paperwork documentation in logs.
- Must follow written and oral instructions with little supervision.
Required Experience
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the construction of interior panels, which can include cutting, bonding, sewing and performing hardware operations such as drilling, riveting and assembly.
- Maintain safe and effective work area/environment and use appropriate personal protective and safety equipment.
- Must complete proper paperwork documentation in logs.
- Must follow written and oral instructions with little supervision.
Marginal Functions:
- Responsible for orderliness of work area and proper care of equipment, materials, and tools.
- Various other duties as assigned by superior.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift 25 pounds.
- Must be able to grip scissors, rollers, measuring devices, sandpaper, sanders and other hand tools and use them appropriately.
- Must be able to use handheld burning tools and heated irons.
- Must work in a standing and/or in a seated position.
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
