Yard Associate / Material Handler | St. George, UT
This role is ideal for hardworking individuals who take pride in accuracy, safety, and efficiency while working in a fast-paced lumber yard environment. Candidates should be comfortable handling building materials, assisting customers, and operating equipment such as forklifts and power tools. This position involves both hands-on yard work and customer interaction. If you are reliable, detail-oriented, and enjoy working outdoors as part of a team, we want to connect with you.
Responsibilities
Efficiently and accurately assemble and stage customer orders for delivery, transfer, or pick-up
Check in delivery orders and verify incoming products, completing necessary paperwork
Safely load and unload building materials and products
Operate yard equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and power tools
Perform routine pre- and post-inspections on equipment and report any issues
Maintain clean, organized, and safe yard and storage areas
Assist customers with material pick-ups, returns, and product questions
Deliver materials to commercial and residential job sites as needed
Communicate delays, shortages, or order issues to management
Follow all company safety protocols and procedures
Support warehouse and yard operations as directed by supervisors
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old
Prior lumber yard or material handling experience preferred
Ability to lift 80100 lbs regularly
Strong customer service and communication skills
Basic math and measurement skills
Ability to operate forklifts and yard equipment (certification preferred)
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Reliable, safety-minded, and team-oriented
Pay
$18.00
per hour
Schedule
Full Time | Monday
Friday | 7am-4pm
