Clinical Nutrition Program Director (12-month Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Instructor) – Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences, School of Public Health and Health Professions.
The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences seeks an accomplished Clinical Nutrition Program Director to join our faculty as a full-time, 12-month Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Instructor. This leadership role offers an opportunity to shape clinical nutrition education, strengthen program excellence, and foster collaboration across academic and clinical settings. The successful candidate will advance a high-impact program that prepares the next generation of nutrition professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Drive student success through strategic recruitment, retention initiatives, and a student-centered program culture.
Represent the program at open houses, outreach events, and professional gatherings to enhance visibility and engagement.
Deliver high-quality instruction by teaching courses within the program and contributing to an enriching academic experience.
Lead curriculum innovation through ongoing development, assessment, and program review to ensure relevance, rigor, and alignment with emerging trends in the field.
Maintain accreditation standards through ACEND and support continuous quality improvement.
Contribute to the broader academic community through service at the Department, School, University, and professional levels.
About the Department
The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences is a dynamic, research-driven academic unit within the School of Public Health & Health Professions. It offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including a BS in Exercise Science, BS in Nutritional Sciences, BS/MS in Exercise Nutrition, MS in Clinical Nutrition leading to the Registered Dietitian credential, MS in Athletic Training, MS in Nutrition and Exercise Science, and PhD programs in Exercise Science and Nutrition. A signature feature is the Center for Research and Education in Special Environments (CRESE), a facility supporting research in altitude, underwater, and extreme temperatures. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of professional experience post-credentialing (ACEND standard)
Credentialed as a registered dietitian
Preferred Qualifications
Earned doctoral degree (DCN, PhD, EdD)
Prior leadership within an ACEND program
Understanding of ACEND accreditation processes and standards
