Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA)
Under clinical supervision, assists in the delivery of patient care and treatment according to policies and procedures and Logan Health (LH) MAU/UAP (Unlicensed Assistive Personnel) scope of practice. Provides administrative support and works collaboratively with Physicians, Advanced Practice Clinicians, RNs, LPNs and other department staff to meet the physical, psychosocial, education and spiritual needs of the patient and family.
Your Role in Action
As a Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA), you'll play a key role in supporting oncology providers and nurses to deliver seamless, high-quality care. You will:
Prepare patients for visits and treatments by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and updating records.
Assist providers during exams and in-office procedures.
Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing as ordered.
Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient, timely visits.
Accurately document care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Support scheduling, referrals, and follow-up communication with patients and families.
Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
Provide compassionate, professional communication and education to patients navigating oncology care.
What You Bring
Required: Active Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
Preferred: Previous experience in oncology, specialty, or hospital-based clinic setting.
Excellent clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient confidentiality and safety.
