Occupational Health Technician 2
Collect urine specimens for drug testing purposes. Operate and adjust X-ray equipment settings to produce high-quality diagnostic images of limited body parts, such as the chest and extremities. Responsible for rooming patients and associated clinical duties. May assist with scheduling and registration of workers for pre-placement physicals, drug screens, and injuries with responsibility for associated paperwork.
High School diploma or equivalent. Current limited X-ray certification. Medical Office Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician certification is preferred. CPR certification required upon hire.
Keyboarding skills adequate to accomplish required department data entry. Experience with computer required. Experience with drug testing procedures preferred, but will consider on-the-job training. Ability to provide acute and sub-acute clinical care, patient assessment, and treatment. Must be willing to obtain additional training and/or certification as requested. Good communication and excellent interpersonal skills required. Ability to maintain professional demeanor and confidentiality in dealing with others. Ability to handle appropriately and follow through with routine, detailed workload. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Greet patients, provide excellent customer service.
Collect drug screen samples, send and receive materials and reports.
Take vital signs, wound prep and care.
Assist physician with procedures.
Register patients in computer system (data entry).
Assemble and file charts.
Answer telephone.
Schedule appointments.
Use verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
Work as a team player.
Move equipment, charts, and supplies, light cleaning, order supplies.
