Bend Associate
The bend associate position operates machines to fabricate parts. Loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.
Essential Functions:
Performs all assigned machine operations
Reads job specifications such as blueprints, calipers, and measurements to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
Determines the appropriate equipment and methods based on requirements
Sets up, adjusts and operates machinery and equipment to fabricate parts to specifications
Maintains equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Ensures work is done safely, consistently and meets quality standards
Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions
Checks parts to drawing specifications and tolerance using proper measurement and inspection equipment to determine accuracy of machine operation
Inspects end product from fabrication operations to ensure accuracy and discover flaws
Identifies, tags and removes non-conforming materials
Accurately completes all required paperwork in a timely manner
Communicates with other departments as necessary
Keeps work areas clean and organized
Adheres to all company rules and policies
Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor
