R&D B Person

Great Plains Mfg is looking for an R&D B Person for its facility in Assaria, KS. This position will fabricate, machine, weld, assemble and test components of experimental products.
This position works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional overtime as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Build and repair basic weld fixtures for production
Build basic prototypes for the product development team
Assemble prototypes as needed
Read, interpret and work from engineering prints
Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment
Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to weld and operate a cutting torch or hand-held plasma torch
Ability to operate fabrication equipment to include HAAS, lathe, plasma torch, saw and vertical mill
some training will be provided
Forklift license or the ability to obtain one
Ability to read blueprints and standard measuring devices
Strong mechanical aptitude
Supply necessary hand tools, including some precision tools
Basic computer skills helpful
