CNC Machinist (2nd Shift)
CNC Machinist (2nd Shift) position available with +$3 shift differential plus paid lunch breaks and no weekends!
ATC Automation is hiring a CNC Machinist for our Cookeville, TN location. The CNC Machinist programs, sets up and operates numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, and boring on metallic and non-metallic work pieces, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability of materials, and mathematics. How You'll Contribute
Review mechanical drawings to determine procedures, sequences and dimensions.
Manipulates controls and enters commands.
Calculates and sets machine controls.
Monitors machine operation.
Machines parts to specification.
Verifies conformance of parts to specification.
Precise measuring tools.
Knowledge of metal properties.
Knowledge of layout, machining and assembly.
Basic Requirements
Effective communication skills.
Ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
Operate in a professional and efficient demeanor within the team environment as well as interacting with our customers.
Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions using strong problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills include attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Follow directions and instructions.
Mathematical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and maximize efficiency.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma.
Formal trade school certificate is preferred.
4 years' experience in related field minimum.
6+ years' experience in related field preferred.
Physical Demands and Conditions
Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of up to 35 feet.
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
Exposure to high noise levels, moving/rotating equipment, fumes, dust, oil and other fluids.
Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently.
Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
VISUAL ACUITY: Near acuity with or without accommodation.
HEARING Ability: Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose.
