The Phelps Health Acute Care Physical Therapy Assistant is an integral part of the inpatient care team, providing comprehensive physical therapy services to adult and geriatric patients across medical, surgical, ICU, and specialty units. You'll collaborate closely with physicians, nursing, case management, and rehabilitation colleagues to promote functional independence, safety, and successful discharge planning.
We are looking for a dynamic Physical Therapist Assistant who is passionate about helping others and is a team player!
In this role, you will:
Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapists using appropriate modalities.
Seek consultation as necessary.
Monitor patient's responses to the treatment plan.
Regularly communicate patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
Document services provided and patient response/progress.
Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
Assist with patient discharge planning.
Provide information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree Required; Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
Current and unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state where services are rendered
Current CPR certification
Strong organizational and communication skills
