Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations on the production floor, leading and coordinating a crew of up to 20 workers. This role manages production output, monitors equipment and processes, records key production data, and actively supports hands-on production tasks when needed to ensure goals are met. The supervisor works in a non-climate-controlled facility with older, sometimes outdated machinery and must be flexible and open-minded in assisting across different stations on the line.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day production activities and ensure production goals and targets are consistently met.
Lead, manage, and delegate tasks to a crew of up to 20 production workers to maintain efficient workflow.
Monitor production lines and machines, watching for jams, malfunctions, or irregularities and addressing issues promptly.
Feed machines with appropriate materials and step into hands-on production tasks as needed to support the team.
Measure products and materials accurately, including meters, quantities, and dimensions, to verify they meet specifications.
Record and maintain detailed production data, including output volumes, measurements, and other key metrics.
Perform loading and unloading of materials to keep production lines supplied and organized.
Apply electro-mechanical knowledge, hydraulics understanding, and troubleshooting skills to support maintenance and resolve production issues.
Use computer systems to input data, complete reporting, and track production performance.
Support and promote safe work practices on the production floor.
Remain flexible and open to assisting at different stations along the production line as operational needs change.
Work required hours, including some Saturdays and potential flexible schedules, to support production demands.
Essential Skills
Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on electro-mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mechanical systems.
Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills, including experience with hydraulics.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct, motivate, and coordinate a crew of up to 20 workers.
Computer literacy for reporting, data entry, and production tracking.
Ability to work long hours in a non-climate-controlled facility.
Comfort working with older and sometimes outdated machinery.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as feeding machines, measuring materials, and loading/unloading materials.
Flexibility and openness to assist at different stations on the production line as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in metal manufacturing facilities.
Background in production, production management, or manufacturing processes.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including some Saturdays and varying shifts.
Willingness to work as a weekend shift supervisor if needed.

Work Environment

The facility is non-climate-controlled, so temperatures on the production floor can vary depending on the season. Work is primarily on 2nd shift (3:00 p.m.

11:30 p.m.) or 3rd shift (7:00 p.m.

5:00 a.m.), and there is potential to work solely as a weekend shift supervisor, covering three shifts for days or nights. Some Saturday work is required as production needs dictate. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with regular use of production lines, electro-mechanical equipment, and material handling for loading and unloading. Employees should be prepared for active, on-the-floor work in industrial attire appropriate for a manufacturing setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $55000.00/yr. Full benefits PTO program 401k.
