Transportation Specialist

Longeviti is searching for a Transportation Specialist with an active Top Secret clearance, at least three (3) years of experience and certifications in Forklift and other Material Handling Equipment to support the DIA Logistics Operations Center (DLOC) in Landover, MD.
The Transportation Specialist is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient movement of goods, including routing, dispatch coordination, and delivery and pick-up scheduling.

This role requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and certifications to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. The specialist assists with loading and unloading activities, ensuring proper in-transit protection of furniture and property through the use of pads, straps, and security techniques.
Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and maintaining transportation documentation such as delivery receipts, transfer and turn-in forms, and chain-of-custody logs in accordance with agency procedures. The position requires strong attention to detail for verifying item counts, documenting condition, and reporting discrepancies.
The Transportation Specialist must adhere to all site access, safety, and security requirements, promptly reporting any incidents or noncompliance. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn logistics systems are essential, along with the capability to work in warehouse and loading dock environments while supporting material handling operations.
Ability to assist with routing, dispatch coordination, delivery/pick-up scheduling, and tracking of shipments/moves.
Basic understanding of loading/unloading practices and in-transit protection for furniture/property (pads, straps, securement).
Ability to prepare, review, and maintain required transportation documentation (delivery receipts, transfer/turn-in forms, chain-of-custody/signature logs) in accordance with Agency procedures.
Attention to detail for item counts, condition notes, and discrepancy reporting.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and willingness/ability to learn tasked logistics systems.
Ability to follow site access, safety, and security procedures; report incidents, damage, or noncompliance immediately to supervisors.
Ability to work in warehouse/loading dock environments and assist with material handling tasks consistent with safety requirements.
Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation, delivery, warehouse, or logistics support.
Must possess Forklift and other Material Handling Equipment certifications and hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
At minimum a High School Diploma or GED
