Position Overview
A well-established law firm in Irvine is seeking an experienced
Legal Billing Specialist
to join its Accounting team. This role is responsible for managing complex legal billing functions, particularly insurance and e-billing, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission of invoices. The ideal candidate will bring extensive law firm billing experience and thrive in a collaborative, detail-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end legal billing processes with a focus on insurance and electronic invoicing.
Prepare, review, and submit invoices using Aderant and related billing systems.
Process and validate electronic billing files, including handling multiple LEDES formats.
Review prebills, apply billing guidelines, and ensure compliance with firm and insurance requirements.
Collaborate closely with attorneys and internal accounting teams to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
Track outstanding claims, research payment delays, and follow up on open balances.
Maintain detailed billing records and support reporting and audit requests.
Assist with continuous improvement of billing workflows and procedures.
Qualifications
710+ years of recent legal billing experience in a law firm environment.
Strong working knowledge of Aderant billing software.
Hands-on experience with insurance billing and electronic invoicing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting functions.
Experience using Pre-Bill Viewer or similar legal billing review tools.
Ability to interpret and apply insurance billing guidelines and client billing requirements.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to additional legal billing platforms or accounting systems.
Strong organizational, time management, and communication abilities.
Proven ability to collaborate across accounting, legal operations, and attorney teams.
High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
Work Schedule
Full-time

Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year
