Responsibilities
Operate plastic injection and related production machines that manufacture diabetic needles and other small medical components.
Set small needles onto metal tabs or into holes on insert machines, similar to threading a needle, ensuring accurate placement every time.
Remove parts from automatic machines, sort them, and perform visual and basic dimensional inspections to confirm they meet quality standards.
Work with small metal and plastic components in a high-volume environment, maintaining consistent speed and accuracy.
Follow detailed work orders, production instructions, and standard operating procedures to ensure correct setup and operation of each machine.
Use microscopes or magnification tools as needed to inspect tiny components and detect defects.
Label parts and packaging accurately and complete all required production and quality documentation in a timely and legible manner.
Maintain a clean room work area, following gowning requirements including gown, bonnet, and safety glasses, and comply with all clean room regulations.
Rotate between different machines and workstations, adapting to tasks that involve both sitting and standing throughout the shift.
Monitor equipment during operation, identify obvious issues, and escalate concerns to appropriate personnel when necessary.
Work Environment
You will work in a clean room regulated environment that requires wearing a gown, bonnet, and safety glasses, while still allowing personal items such as makeup and jewelry. The facility operates plastic injection molding and other industrial machinery to produce medical components, with a noticeable but well-ventilated plastic resin smell. The atmosphere is laid back yet very quality conscious, with a strong emphasis on following procedures and maintaining cleanliness. The role is based in the plastics division and involves rotating between different machines; some assignments require standing for most of an 8-hour period, while others allow more sitting. You will receive thorough training on every machine and process, supporting a rotation-style workflow. The schedule runs from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on a rotating pattern of two days on, two days off, three days on, then two days off, providing extended periods of time off within each cycle.
