Aircraft Mechanic 2 (CH-47/AH-64/UH-60)
The Aircraft Mechanic 2 (CH-47/AH-64/UH-60) oversees and performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals, and safety procedures.
May be required to perform any AM1 task.
Oversees removal and installation aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls, and their components.
Oversees and services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.
Oversees preparation of aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
Oversees and performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.
Oversees and performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required.
Oversees and use of and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools, and aircraft ground support equipment.
Oversees preparation of forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
Oversees, removes, and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft.
Oversees maintaining the supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
Performs additional duties, including maintenance duties, as requested.
Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality)
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired; certification of education level is required.
Valid up-to-date A&P license (optional)
Must have three years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS). All experience must be within the six most recent years.
Valid Driver's License.
Must provide own tools/toolbox. Recruiters will provide toolbox requirements to candidates upon selection.
Clearance Requirements
Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.
Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems on the assigned MDS.
Advanced knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, and those listed in the assigned MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC).
Advanced knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects
Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by aircraft mechanic.
The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
May be required to lift/push/pull heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.
Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.
Will handle dirty parts and lubricants.
Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.
May work in maintenance shop or outside.
Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.
May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.
May be expected to work in austere environments and all-weather conditions.
Compensation & Benefits
HIRING HOURLY Rate of Pay: $42.10 - $43.36 (Hourly set by CBA)

Bi-weekly accrual of 5.07 hours (48 months but less than 108 months)
