About the Role
We're looking for a dependable Dental Assistant to support our Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery team. This position is best suited for someone with hands-on dental assisting experience who wants steady hours, clear expectations, and the opportunity to learn oral surgery procedures on the job.
What You'll Be Doing
Assist the doctor during oral surgery procedures such as extractions and implants.
Seat patients, take vital signs, and prepare rooms for surgery.
Support anesthesia cases under direct supervision.
Ensure consents and charts are complete before procedures begin.
Explain pre-op and post-op instructions in a clear, calm manner.
Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after procedures.
Assist with follow-up communication as directed by the team.
Follow OSHA, infection control, and radiation safety standards.
Take diagnostic X-rays with proper positioning.
Maintain accurate electronic charts and documentation.
Set up, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments.
Keep operatories organized and ready for the next patient.
Work closely with doctors and clinical staff.
Be reliable, punctual, and willing to help where needed.
Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
What We're Looking For (Required)
X-Ray Certification
CPR Certification
At least 1 year of dental assisting experience
Comfortable assisting during surgical procedures and standing for extended periods
Strong attention to detail and patient safety
Consistent attendance and reliability
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Dental Assistant Certification
Prior oral surgery or sedation experience
Interest in learning surgical and anesthesia assisting skills
Pay & What to Expect
$17$22 per hour, based on experience and certifications
On-the-job training for oral surgery and anesthesia assisting
Stable schedule in a specialty practice
