General Production Associate
This role supports a high-volume, 24/7 plastic extrusion manufacturing facility by assisting production across multiple lines, including Laminator, Knitting, Roll Converter, and Extruder departments. You will train on day or night shift, then transition to a 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. schedule on a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation. The role is hands-on, physically demanding, and requires close attention to quality, safety, and production standards.
Responsibilities
Assist production operations on the Laminator, Knitting, Roll Converter, and Extruder lines as assigned.
Perform core extracting on the four affected areas on each production line.
Monitor the extrusion process and promptly report any irregularities or quality concerns.
Pay close attention to quality issues and follow established inspection and documentation procedures.
Wrap rolls of finished product safely and accurately according to production specifications.
Mix chemicals as directed while following all safety and handling procedures.
Utilize lift-assist equipment and other tools to move materials and product safely.
Lift up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the shift with regular bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
Pull and push an air bar into cores as part of the production process.
Stand for long periods of time during the shift while working on or near production lines.
Walk up and down stairs on catwalks as required by certain roles and work comfortably at heights where needed.
Perform general production tasks such as assembly, packaging, and machine operation as directed.
Conduct basic machine operation and monitoring to support continuous production flow.
Follow all safety policies, wear required personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to report progress, issues, and action items.
Support problem-solving efforts on the production floor by sharing observations and assisting with corrective actions.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED.
Previous manufacturing experience in a production environment.
Previous machine operation experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Ability to work scheduled hours on a 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. shift with a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation, after training.
Reliable attendance and the ability to show up on time for all scheduled shifts.
Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and perform regular bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
Comfort standing for long periods of time during the shift.
Ability to work at heights, including walking up and down stairs on catwalks, for roles that require it.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn and perform all aspects of the job.
Basic communication skills to report progress, issues, and action items to supervisors and other team members.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Two years of recent manufacturing experience with the same company is preferred.
Experience in general production, machine operation, and machine operating in a manufacturing setting.
Previous experience in inspection, assembly, packaging, or general labor in an industrial environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy in following procedures and completing documentation.
Problem-solving skills and analytical ability to help identify and address production issues.
Ability to clearly explain data, observations, or required action items to supervisors.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing facility operating 24/7.

The environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, extended periods of standing, and regular bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling. Some positions require climbing stairs and working on elevated catwalks, so comfort with heights is important for those roles. This is a hands-on production setting where you may work with chemicals, moving machinery, and powered assist devices. All employees must wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel-toe or composite safety shoes.
