General Laborer

The General Laborer works in a clean, climate-controlled woodworking manufacturing facility that produces wood products such as doors and columns. In this role, you support daily production by loading and unloading machines, performing basic finishing tasks on wood products, and assisting machine operators to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
Load and unload materials and wood products into and out of manufacturing machines.
Perform small tasks on wood products, including sanding, painting, assembly, and finishing, following quality and safety standards.
Assist machine operators with set-up, operation, and basic support tasks as needed.
Use hand tools and basic carpentry tools safely and correctly during daily work.
Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to support cutting, assembly, and finishing tasks.
Maintain a clean and organized work area by sweeping, removing debris, and performing general housekeeping duties around the facility.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with machinery, tools, and materials.
Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Essential Skills
Experience or strong aptitude in carpentry, construction, or woodworking.
Ability to use a tape measure accurately for basic measurements.
Hands-on experience with general labor tasks in a manufacturing or similar environment.
Basic assembly skills using hand tools and simple equipment.
Ability to safely use common hand tools related to carpentry and woodworking.
Reliability and willingness to perform a variety of physical tasks throughout the shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Woodworking skills highly preferred, including familiarity with sanding, painting, and finishing wood products.
Previous experience in a construction, carpentry, or woodworking facility is a plus.
Comfort working around manufacturing machinery and assisting machine operators.
Attention to detail when working on finished wood products such as doors and columns.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a production environment.

The workspace is clean, open, and climate controlled, providing a comfortable environment throughout the year. You will work on first shift only, using hand tools, tape measures, and woodworking equipment while moving between machine areas, assembly stations, and general facility spaces.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $16.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
