Administrative Coordinator
The Office of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers' compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. The department manages disputed claims, conducts hearings, reviews medical treatment disputes, and investigates fraud through collaborative efforts like the GAME ON task force. The Administrative Coordinator will provide administrative and legal secretarial support for the office of Workers' Compensation Judge and to act as liaison with the public concerning administrative and minor legal matters, requiring a working knowledge of Workers' Compensation procedural rules and statutes. Job Duties and Other Information:
Assembles records and exhibits in a form acceptable to each Court of Appeals.
Monitors appeals and insures that estimated appeal costs are paid in a timely manner. Is authorized on behalf of the State to file a Rule to Show Cause before the Workers' Compensation Judge why appeals should not be dismissed for failure to pay estimated appeal costs in a timely manner.
Process inquiries concerning complex Workers' Compensation issues and communicates via telephone, in person and in writing a wide variety of information concerning the Workers' Compensation hearing procedure to entities including but not limited to parties, attorneys, insurance representatives, governmental bodies, congressional and legislative personnel and their constituents.
Monitors requisitioning of office supplies and equipment
Reviews Request for Approval of Compromise or Lump Sum settlements and recommends approval or rejection to Workers' Compensation Judge.
