Manufacturing Supervisor

Oversees assigned manufacturing areas, optimizing workflows to meet production goals efficiently and safely. Empowers teams to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget through proactive bottleneck resolution and scheduling.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Assesses the work schedule and determines availability of equipment, raw materials, parts & packaging, labor to fulfill the daily/ weekly production requirements.
Schedules, assigns and supervises associates, capitalizing on their developed skills to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Trains and coaches employees on lean manufacturing principles relative to the department and business objectives and ensures proper execution of lean processes are followed.
Identifies potential opportunities for continuous improvement processes, practices and results.
Applies Lean tools and processes, such as Kaizen, 5S, Standardized work and material and information flow design.
Participates in lean manufacturing projects, Kanban and other lean manufacturing objectives.
Applies sound judgment and discretion in decision-making and utilizes problem solving techniques to identify and resolve production issues.
Maintains all operations within expected safety and productivity standards. Ensures all associates are trained and competent in the handling of hazardous waste and all other legislative training requirements relevant to their department.
Comprehends written and verbal instructions and translates them into actionable tasks in support of the production process.
Analyzes and assesses production and or other reports and identifies trends or issues that require action.
Resolves associate's issues effectively, trains and develops his/her work group for maximum flexibility, maximizes the department's human capital.
Uses technology effectively, is technically competent in all aspects of production, understands technical issues related to his/her department, a functional expert.
Is competent in the use of software systems and applications, maximizes their use and potential for improving all assigned departments' efficiency.
Uses time effectively, highly developed organization skills
Provides feedback to senior managers on production and labor issues in a timely and effective manner.
Training

Must receive annual safety training and annual training on handling hazardous waste relative in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Department leaders and employees of areas assigned.

Education And/Or Experience

Three to five years of supervision of a group of associates performing simple assembly or mechanical processing system.
Understands quality control processes and has worked in a continuous improvement environment
Has provided associates with performance feedback, coaches and provides good leadership.
Has worked in a team-based environment, understands team dynamics, builds teams
Knowledge And Skills

Well-developed communication skills in written and verbal formats
Knowledge of basic mechanical systems and the ability to identify problems and make simple mechanical adjustments
Basic supervisory skills, know how to direct, coach, delegate and oversee work teams involved in simple assembly and process operations.
Knowledge of basic software applications, Microsoft Office, ERP applications, good basic keyboarding skills.
Basic knowledge of labor and safety legislation as it applies to the supervisory role.
Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
Knowledge of mathematics and English language skills associated with the completion of a High School Diploma/GED equivalent
