Position Summary

The Switchboard Operator is responsible for answering a high volume of incoming calls promptly using excellent professional and customer service skills. They must communicate with patients, staff, and doctors clearly and effectively. Take messages and relay them to the appropriate departments.
Roles and Responsibilities

Telephone coverage using your strong customer service and professional demeanor.
Scheduling appointments.
Organize and maintain a filing system.
Sorting and distributing mail.
Route calls to the appropriate departments.
Protect patient's rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
May perform back-up medical record duties.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements

Progressive job history with minimum changes and progressive growth
Strong data entry and telephone skills.
Self-Motivated with problem-solving skills
Team player
Well-organized with strong attention to detail
Punctual and Dependable
Ability to speak fluent Spanish is preferred but not required.
Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to stay focused.
