Role Summary
The Intermediate/Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and supporting the Financial Manager with month-end and audit preparation. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to handle multiple accounting processes with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Maintain and record all financial transactions accurately in the accounting system
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections
Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
Prepare and assist with month-end closing activities
Ensure all supporting documentation is organized and audit-ready
Assist external auditors by gathering required documentation and responding to requests
Process or coordinate payroll by submitting accurate data to payroll providers
Maintain records related to employee benefits (e.g., pension plans, insurance) and liaise with HR as needed
Monitor cash flow and report any discrepancies or concerns
Assist in improving accounting procedures and internal controls
Support the Financial Manager with ad hoc financial and administrative tasks

Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Experience with payroll coordination and basic HR-related financial processes is an asset
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A diploma or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
Experience working with auditors preferred
Experience in an HOA community or service-based environment is preferred
Pay and Benefits $55,000 - 65,000 per year (depending on experience)
