Production Assembler

This role is responsible for assembling and inspecting products to ensure they meet high quality standards, while supporting safe, efficient, and continuously improving production operations. You will work with hand and power tools, operate machinery for small assembly tasks, and contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
Assemble products using hand and power tools in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
Inspect products and components to verify they meet quality standards and identify any defects or nonconformities.
Set up and monitor production equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in compliance with safety guidelines and housekeeping standards.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, production efficiency, and product quality.
Identify and report issues related to equipment, materials, or processes, and assist in troubleshooting and resolving them.
Follow written work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements consistently.
Handle and move materials and products, including lifting up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and timelines.
Operate powered industrial trucks and other production equipment as required, following all safety protocols.
Essential Skills:
Experience with hand and power tools for small assembly work.
Ability to operate production machinery safely and effectively.
Capability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
Previous manufacturing experience.
Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with precision and strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills to interpret information and concepts effectively.
Ability to collaborate within a team while also working independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent observation skills to detect key details and potential issues in products and processes.
Troubleshooting skills to address production and quality challenges as they arise.
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Creative thinking and idea generation to support process and quality improvements.
Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities related to safety, production, and quality.
Comfort working around production machinery and powered industrial equipment.
Reliability and consistency in following procedures, safety rules, and quality standards.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Freeport, IL.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $21.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
