Quality Assurance in Recycling Processes
Inspect and monitor incoming recyclable materials to ensure compliance with established standards for quality and contamination levels.
Evaluate and document the quality of sorted, processed, and baled materials before shipping to customers or downstream processors.
Conduct random sampling of recyclables to assess the effectiveness of sorting processes.
Observe recycling operations, including sorting lines, machinery, and packaging, to ensure efficiency and adherence to operational protocols.
Identify non-conforming materials, report findings, and recommend corrective actions.
Record quality metrics, including contamination rates, material recovery rates, and output quality.
Analyze data to detect trends, inefficiencies, or recurring quality issues.
Prepare detailed reports and present findings to supervisors and management.
Provide feedback to team members on quality issues and best practices.
Collaborate with supervisors to conduct training sessions aimed at improving material handling and sorting quality.
Inspect and ensure that sorting, compacting, and baling equipment are functioning correctly and safely.
Verify compliance with environmental and safety regulations, as well as company policies.
Work closely with operations teams to identify areas for process improvements to maximize material recovery and reduce waste.
Participate in problem-solving and brainstorming sessions to improve operational quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Familiarity with recycling processes, materials, and industry standards is preferred.
Experience in quality monitoring, waste management, or production is a plus.
Strong communication skills for effective reporting and training.
Proficiency in basic computer tools for data entry and reporting (e.g., Google Suite).

Work Environment
On-site at recycling facilities, including material intake, sorting areas, and storage yards.
Physical work may include standing, walking, and inspecting materials on sorting lines.
