A Typical Day in the Life
As a tax supervisor, you will oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery for a diverse client base.
Responsibilities
Onboard and mentor new staff and interns while supervising workload distribution
Preparation of the highest level of returns and workpapers and draft technical memos
Detail review of tax returns, providing feedback and strategic insights
Develop expertise in specialized tax areas and respond to IRS/state notices
Contribute to training initiatives including content development
Ensure timely and accurate completion of client engagements
Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for value-added services
Support administrative tasks, stay current with tax law and technology, and recommend process improvements

Qualifications
Bachelor\’s degree in accounting or related field required
5+ years of public accounting experience in tax preparation and review
Actively pursuing CPA or other relevant certification(s)
Demonstrated expertise in at least one tax type (business or individual); working knowledge of others
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Excel and Word)
Strong ability to interpret tax documentation and regulations
Keen attention to detail
Excellent communication and analytical skills
