Programming Director/KUNM
Position Summary
Under indirect supervision, directs the programming unit for the University’s radio station, KUNM. Develops, implements, and promotes program schedules, ensuring compliance with regulations governing program activity. Directs four production and audience engagement staff and serves on the Sr. Leadership Team.
This is a temporary full‑time position with an expected end date of 09/30/2026.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Facility in using radio automation systems
Management experience with volunteers
At least five years of experience in broadcast and digital audience development, engagement, analytics or related roles
Demonstrated success overseeing the growth of and managing newsletters, podcasts, social media or other direct‑to‑audience products
Strong analytical skills and experience translating metrics into action
Excellent written, digital and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across editorial, product and revenue teams
Enthusiasm for the KUNM’s mission to "Inform, Entertain and Engage the people of New Mexico" and a full grasp of our community‑first approach
