AOG Technician
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Troubleshoot and repair defects of non-scheduled maintenance and complete all return to service paperwork.
Maintain an at-ready status and be prepared for dispatch to a given assignment. Provide AOG recovery support when needed.
Coordinate daily with the Regional Line Mx Manager to define workload and workload planning.
Maintain contact with Line Mx Management regarding assignments.
Forward copies of repair information to Maintenance control as work is completed. Send original paperwork to aircraft records.
Provide technical support to Line Mx as needed via teams, teleconference, research.
Monitor current and historical data for chronic or repetitive discrepancies on aircraft systems.
Perform other duties as assigned by Line Mx Management.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience maintaining aircraft of the same category and class as those operated by Kalitta Air.
Must be appropriately certificated under 14 CFR Part 65.
Valid FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certificate.
Previous experience in heavy maintenance oversight and/or vendor management strongly preferred.
Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other computer-based tools required.
Education and/or experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Some college coursework and/or technical school training in aviation maintenance or a related field preferred.
Language skills:
Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence clearly and accurately.
Ability to provide verbal and written direction effectively to assigned staff and maintenance personnel.
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally lifting and/or moving objects more than 50 pounds to eye level.
Lifting 10 pounds with each arm overhead.
Twisting and turning with normal strength forces.
Climb multiple flights of stairs.
Working on ladders, lifts, and at elevated heights as required.
Working in squatted or confined positions.
Perform duties in various weather conditions.
Work environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. Work is performed primarily in a maintenance or hangar environment, with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and employees may be exposed to aircraft noise, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts.
