The Group Art Supervisor (GAS) manages all aspects of Art Direction across multiple brands and a team of Art Directors. They are responsible for ideation for new campaigns and innovative tactics, overseeing creative execution and identifying strategic brand solutions. The GAS partners closely with cross- functional brand teams to ensure the integrity of the creative work is maintained.

Responsibilities

Develop and create well-detailed materials that strategically solve the creative brief while maintaining quality control, agency process, and client/legal requirements.

Partner closely with cross-functional team members to attain and maintain the creative vision outlined for the brands and agency.

Maintain knowledge and display a deep understanding of marketing plans, objectives, strategies, and success metrics.

Present creative work regularly to internal teams and clients and lead discussions to uplift the work based on data, market, and brand strategy.

Supervise Art Directors and freelancers, evaluate work, and provide constructive feedback to fully realize design potential.

Maintain a timely, detail-oriented, accurate approach to administrative duties for self and direct reports.

Additional Responsibilities

Steward and contribute to Art Direction across multiple brands, ensuring it is strategic, compelling, distinctive, and synergistic with copy.

Fully execute creative deliverables with guidance from managers and guide more junior teammates.

Develop bold creative ideas for various audiences and mediums to support brand goals while managing day-to-day Art needs of the team.

Take an active role in internal and client reviews, presenting and defending creative direction in a collaborative manner, and respond to and incorporate feedback.

Engage and manage outside Art/production vendors as necessary.

Demonstrate effectiveness consistent with job expectations across multiple projects and brands.

Maintain and strengthen positive relationships with various agency departments including Editorial, Account, Strategy, and Project Management.

Communicate consistently and effectively with team members regarding deadlines, revisions, quality control and new work.

Partner closely with Copy partners to contribute and execute creative approaches that communicate brand personality and messages for campaigns and individual materials.

Proactively bring new ideas and suggestions for personal career growth and team dynamics to leadership.

Manage, mentor and inspire Art team, delegating tasks and assignments as appropriate.

Responsible for hiring, staffing, and full life-cycle talent management (feedback, annual reviews, performance management).

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of billing/timesheets for self and direct reports.

Collaborate on staffing plans, timelines, and budgets with guidance from management.

Qualifications

Degree/Diploma in Marketing, Advertising, Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Art and Design, or a related field.

Minimum 6+ years of experience in Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Art Direction, or a related field.

Comprehensive digital portfolio demonstrating creative ability.

Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).

Experience with video editing, animation, or 3D software is a plus.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience and competency with managing and leading a team.

Experience and competency with strategic thinking and problem solving.

Knowledge of Art and Design principles across channels and media.

Salary
$115,000 to $160,000 annually
