Position Overview
A well-established precision manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Engineer to support customer and internal quality initiatives within a fast-paced machining environment. This role works closely with plant leadership and production teams to investigate quality issues, drive corrective actions, and strengthen quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
Support customer complaints, concerns, returns, and 8D corrective actions
Investigate internal and external quality issues using root-cause analysis
Develop, maintain, and improve quality systems while ensuring compliance
Verify effective use of SPC and other process controls; train operators as needed
Partner with plant management and shop-floor personnel to resolve quality issues
Conduct internal quality system audits
Support documentation for ISO / IATF / SPC / compliance standards
Interface with Quality Inspection on PPAP preparation and submission documentation
Review, track, and disposition non-conforming material and product
Ensure employee training on quality system policies and procedures
Develop and maintain customer-specific requirements, FMEA, PFMEA, and process flow charts
Perform additional quality-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
or
equivalent quality experience
Experience in a precision machined metals manufacturing environment preferred
Working knowledge of ISO / IATF, SPC, and compliance requirements
Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, operators, and plant leadership
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
Solid organizational and project management abilities
Working Conditions
Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment
Exposure to elevated noise levels and machine lubrication oils during shop-floor activities
Light physical activity with extended time on the production floor
Heavy customer interaction and
occasional overnight travel
to customer locations
