Engtal, Mount Pleasant, TX, United States
Tax Manager (Hybrid)
Location:
Greater Milwaukee Area
Compensation:
$100,000–$145,000
About the Company
We’re partnering with a well-established professional services firm that continues to invest in the growth of its tax and advisory teams. The environment is highly collaborative and client-focused, with leadership actively involved in mentoring and developing talent. This is a team that values professionals who want broader exposure beyond a siloed role.
About the Role
This Tax Manager will operate in a client-facing capacity, acting as a key relationship owner across a portfolio that leans heavily into individual and closely held business clients. The role blends tax, advisory, and light CAS-style exposure, offering visibility into the full financial picture rather than just compliance work.
You’ll partner directly with leadership and clients, helping guide strategy, oversee deliverables, and contribute to process improvements across engagements. This is well-suited for someone looking to step into a more consultative, account management-oriented role with real influence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and review individual tax engagements, with exposure to partnerships and closely held entities
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships
Provide tax planning and advisory support tailored to individual and business needs
Oversee workflow, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple engagements
Collaborate with leadership on client strategy, process improvements, and team development
Support and mentor junior staff, providing guidance on technical and client-facing work
Assist with broader financial discussions, offering insight that may extend into CAS-style support
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of experience in public accounting or a tax-focused environment
Strong background in individual tax, with exposure to pass-through entities preferred
Experience managing client relationships and owning engagements
Proficiency with tax software and Excel
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, client-driven environment while managing multiple priorities
Preferred Experience
Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses
Exposure to advisory work or CAS-style environments
CPA or actively pursuing certification
Interest in stepping into a more client-facing, relationship-driven role
This is an opportunity to step into a role that offers both technical depth and client ownership, within a firm that provides a clear path for continued growth and leadership.
