Role Description
Warehouse Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Warehouse Maintenance Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of our warehouse and material handling equipment. This position requires hands-on experience in electrical wiring and repair, welding, carpentry, and preventative maintenance with a strong focus on industrial warehouse equipment including forklifts, dock doors, and dock levelers.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and capable of troubleshooting facility and equipment issues with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities and Duties
Ensure that all forklift equipment is operating properly and safely
Operates all material handling equipment required
Ensure maintenance tasks throughout the facilities are being completed according to schedule
Responsible for the inspection and repair of doors, dock plates, racking and additional equipment
Responsible for inspecting building and grounds and performing general building maintenance including dock levelers, racking, and lighting
Maintains forklift and building maintenance operational history by initiating and updating records
Perform building and equipment audits
Coordinate and track preventative maintenance
Initiate and schedule repairs
Perform repairs on equipment
Maintains safe work environment
Monitor and maintain battery maintenance
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience with various types of material handling equipment including forklifts, order pickers, clamp trucks is a plus
Building maintenance experience including lighting, dock doors, dock levelers
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Must have a strong attendance record
Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Forklift certified or able to obtain certification
Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
Technical courses and training a plus
