Cloud Engineer – Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)
Job Summary
A large, multi‑agency enterprise organization is seeking a
Cloud Engineer specializing in Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)
to support organization‑wide digital transformation initiatives. This role is responsible for implementing, configuring, and maintaining IDP solutions across a complex, multi‑organizational cloud environment.
Working closely with the Cloud and Content Architecture team, the IDP Cloud Engineer will translate enterprise architecture standards into scalable, operational solutions. The role serves as the primary technical resource for designing, optimizing, and governing document processing workflows, as well as enabling and mentoring administrators across multiple semi‑autonomous business units.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Platform Implementation & Configuration
Implement, configure, and maintain the enterprise IDP platform across a multi‑organization environment.
Design, build, and optimize intelligent document processing workflows, including:
Document classification
Data extraction
Validation and exception handling
Integration with downstream systems
Configure and manage sub‑tenant or sub‑environment instances for individual departments or agencies, ensuring:
Proper segregation of data
Role‑based access control
Efficient resource allocation
Develop and maintain document classification models, extraction rules, training datasets, and accuracy optimization strategies across diverse document types.
Ensure solutions scale reliably across high‑volume, mission‑critical document processing use cases.
Organizational Enablement & Training
Act as the primary technical trainer and mentor for department‑level or agency‑level administrators.
Design and deliver onboarding materials, training programs, technical documentation, and knowledge base resources enabling teams to manage day‑to‑day IDP operations.
Provide hands‑on guidance during initial project setup, including workflow configuration, model training, and system integrations aligned with enterprise standards.
Establish and support a community of practice to promote collaboration, shared best practices, and continuous improvement among IDP administrators.
Quality Assurance & Standards Governance
Enforce consistency across all IDP implementations by applying enterprise‑approved templates, standards, and architectural design patterns.
Monitor document processing accuracy, throughput, reliability, and performance across environments.
Proactively identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
Conduct regular technical reviews to ensure compliance with organizational standards and operational best practices.
Design and execute testing, validation, and acceptance strategies for:
New document types
Workflow updates
Platform enhancements or upgrades
Technical Operations & Integration
Coordinate platform upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities in collaboration with architecture and IT operations teams.
Design, implement, and support integrations between the IDP platform and:
Line‑of‑business applications
Databases
Content repositories
Automation and workflow tools
Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, including:
Processing failures
Workflow errors
Integration disruptions
Performance bottlenecks
Contribute to capacity planning, performance tuning, and overall optimization of the IDP ecosystem.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Hands‑on experience with intelligent document processing platforms, including workflow design, document classification, and data extraction configuration.
Experience with
Tungsten Automation TotalAgility
or similar IDP platforms; relevant certifications are strongly preferred.
Proven experience managing
multi‑tenant or multi‑organizational environments
within IDP or content management platforms.
Strong development and scripting skills, such as:
C# / .NET
JavaScript
SQL
Experience with related automation or content management technologies (e.g., RPA, communications management, or enterprise content platforms).
Familiarity with environments where multiple departments operate semi‑autonomously within a shared enterprise platform.
Experience working in regulated industries such as government, healthcare, financial services, or human services.
Working knowledge of data privacy and compliance requirements related to document processing (e.g., healthcare or sensitive data regulations).
Experience with AI/ML‑based document classification and extraction model training and optimization.
Minimum
7 years of overall IT experience , including
3+ years in an IDP engineering role .
Strong communication, interpersonal, and training skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable guidance for non‑specialist users.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Equivalent combination of education and hands‑on professional experience
