
Travel Med-Surg Nurse (RN) in Quincy, MA

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an experienced Med/Surg RN with strong neuro assessment skills and telemetry competency. This travel position is based in Quincy, MA, working on the Phippen 6/7 unit—a 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg unit admitting scheduled elective orthopedic, neuro/surgical patients, fractures, and medical overflow patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care, including neuro assessments and interpreting telemetry strips.
Manage patient care with a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:6 depending on shift.
Float as needed to applicable units, supporting flexible patient care needs.
Chart patient information using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care for orthopedic and neuro patients.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience with strong neuro assessment and telemetry skills.
Ability to accurately read and interpret telemetry strips is mandatory.
Current Massachusetts RN license and BLS certification required.
ACLS certification preferred.
Comfortable working rotating day shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a) with a low frequency of shift rotation; night positions are fixed and do not rotate.
Schedule:
Night shifts, 36 hours per week, every other weekend.
