
Process Technician (Injection Molding)

Position Summary
The Process Technician is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and optimizing injection molding processes to ensure product quality, efficiency, and safety. This role supports production by troubleshooting process issues, maintaining equipment standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Tool & Die and Maintenance.

· Establish, set, and monitor processing parameters for injection molding machines
· Operate and support robotic systems and auxiliary equipment associated with molding operations
· Perform mold set-ups, start-ups, and shut-downs as required
· Conduct sampling and validation of new tools, materials, and resins
· Optimize cycle times and processing conditions to meet or exceed production and quality standards
· Troubleshoot process, product, and equipment issues, including dimensional and visual defects
· Coordinate mold installations and removals
· Collaborate with Tool & Die and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment and tooling issues
· Perform preventive maintenance on molds and related tooling
· Maintain accurate process documentation and records
· Support 5S and housekeeping standards within the department
· Follow all safety, quality, and production standards and company policies
· Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role
Additional Responsibilities
· Perform material changes including color, additives, and resins
· Provide training and guidance to setup technicians as needed
· Support production coverage needs, including off-shift or vacation coverage
· Assist with new product introductions and process implementation
· Participate in mold cleaning, repair coordination, and general maintenance support
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Supervisory Responsibilities
· This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities
· May provide guidance and training to less experienced technicians
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred
· 2–5 years of hands-on injection molding process experience
· Experience with molding machines (e.g., Toshiba, Husky, Engel or similar)
· Knowledge of common resins including polypropylene, polystyrene, and polyethylene
· Ability to read and follow work instructions, SOPs, and technical documentation
· Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills

· Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Work Schedule Requirements
· Must be available to work overtime as required, including weekends and off-shift coverage
