
Senior Accountant (Garden Grove)

This role focuses on leading core accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting for a dynamic and growth-oriented organization. You will play a key role in managing general ledger functions, month-end close activities, reconciliations, job costing, compliance, and internal controls while supporting business performance and operational excellence.
The position spans the full accounting lifecycle—from journal entries and account reconciliations to financial reporting, audits, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with finance leadership, operations teams, and staff accountants to maintain financial accuracy, improve efficiencies, and strengthen internal accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead general ledger activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Review journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation
Perform and oversee complex account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Lead components of the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and results are accurate
Review financial transactions and ensure proper classification in accordance with GAAP and company policy
Oversee job setup and closeout processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls, approvals, and data integrity
Monitor job-related financial activity and partner with operations teams to ensure accurate job costing and reporting
Develop, document, and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
Identify process improvement opportunities and drive efficiencies across accounting operations
Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor inquiries
Provide guidance and mentorship to associate and staff accountants; review work and support development
Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, and other departments to support business initiatives and resolve issues
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
Public accounting experience preferred
Strong technical accounting knowledge with deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to resolve complex accounting issues
Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain accounting concepts clearly
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Power BI or other data analytics/reporting tools
Experience in construction, industrial, or project-based accounting environments
CPA or CPA-track candidate preferred
Experience mentoring junior accounting staff
Strong background in job costing, budgeting, and operational finance support
Experience improving processes and implementing internal control enhancements
