Salary: $3,107.53 - $3,307.53 /wk Position: Cath Lab Tech (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) Location: Hyannis, MA Facility Type: Hospital Job Summary The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist assists physicians and the Cath Lab team in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Responsibilities include preparing sterile fields, operating interventional imaging equipment, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters, assisting with contrast administration, performing equipment safety checks, and supporting patient safety and comfort throughout procedures. The role requires adherence to radiation protection standards and participation in preventive maintenance and inventory management. Minimum Requirements Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. State licensure as required by Massachusetts for practice in the role. Experience in a hospital-based Cath Lab or interventional radiology environment. Specific acceptable experience paths include, but are not limited to: Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist II (RCIS) pathway: Associate degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology, or associate degree plus a minimum of 3 years recent Cath Lab experience. RCIS certification preferred. Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist EP pathway: Five years recent EP experience, or combinations of CI, VI, or RCIS certifications as described by the employer. EP-specific experience preferred. Special Procedures Technologist pathways: ARRT registration and Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist licensure with a JRCERT graduate background, plus required radiology/IR experience as outlined by the facility. Experience with interventional procedures and equipment, including endovascular, diagnostic peripheral procedures, aortagram, carotid, AV fistula procedures, embolization, IVC filter placement, lytics, dialysis access, PICC/TIP, biopsies, and select non-vascular procedures (for example drain, G/J tube placement) is preferred. Familiarity with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) management or completion of IABP course preferred. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Preferred: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Cardiac Interventional (CI), or Vascular Interventional (VI) certifications depending on job code and scope. Preferred: Minimum of 2 years' recent Cath Lab hospital experience for many job codes; some job codes require 3-5 years recent experience or equivalent certification. Assignment Details Shift: Flex Shifts. Shift Hours: 07:00-15:00. Schedule Type: Variable, 5x8. Facility Type: Hospital. Duration: 13 week travel assignment. Standard Hours Per Week: 40. Required clinical focus: Cardiology / Cath Lab invasive procedures and interventional radiology support. Key Responsibilities Assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular procedures by scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and documenting hemodynamic data. Operate and troubleshoot interventional imaging and ancillary equipment according to safety standards. Prepare sterile trays and maintain aseptic technique during procedures. Clean and dispose of supplies after procedures. Provide patient care including transfers, preparation, education, and reassurance to promote safety and cooperation. Administer contrast media under physician direction and support recovery processes post-procedure. Perform routine equipment safety checks and participate in preventative maintenance tasks. Maintain departmental inventory and assist with supply management. Participate in professional development and maintain required certifications and training.
