
Reliability Engineer

Location: Silver Bay, MN
Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for a Reliability Engineer at our Northshore Mining Company facility located in Silver Bay, MN. The primary responsibility of this position is managing the preventative and predictive maintenance programs including: non‑destructive testing and analysis (ultrasonic, vibration, and thermography), lubrication, and key performance indicator monitoring.
Summary of Responsibilities
Perform failure mode and effect analysis.
Perform Root Cause Analysis.
Perform Delays Analysis.
Review data and evaluate results to develop improvement plans.
Manage improvement and cost savings projects.
Identify opportunities
Determine best solution
Create/update drawings as needed
Write work scopes for contractors
Manage contractors through project completion
Ensure supervision, mentoring and training when required.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
Skilled in team solving techniques.
Strong equipment troubleshooting skills.
Experience with cost analysis and budgeting.
Experience with root cause analysis methods and procedures.
Ability to motivate and empower direct report and/or team members.
Working knowledge of reliability centered maintenance and predictive maintenance technologies.
Strong report writing and verbal communication skills.
Must have strong computer skills; Microsoft Office experience, Excel experience, and MS Project knowledge; preference for individuals with computerized maintenance management system experience.
Must be capable of working effectively and safely using a participative management style in a team environment.
Preferred Requirements
At least 5 years of experience as a Reliability Engineer is preferred, but not required.
Previous project management experience is preferred.
Previous project engineering experience is preferred.
